When it comes to love and romance, it’s easy to make concessions on the things that are most important to us, especially if we believe it will bring us closer to that elusive fairytale connection.
But there are others among us who will not accept less. They refuse to lose themselves in the search for love.
They’re resilient, determined, and sure of what they want and deserve. Here are 10 things a strong woman would never do for a man:
1. Change herself for him
A strong woman is unapologetically herself.
No matter how much she likes a man, she won’t change things like:
- Her appearance
- The way she speaks
- Her hobbies
- Her likes and dislikes
Just to make him happy. Why?
Because she prefers to wait for a partner who accepts her just as she is. And, let’s be honest, this is a dangerous path to go…
The next thing you know, you’re dyeing your hair the color he prefers and suppressing your own thoughts just to keep him happy.
A strong lady begins as she intends to continue!
2. Abandon family or friends
Another thing a strong woman would never do for a man is to cease seeing her friends and relatives.
There’s no guarantee that your partner will become best buds with your childhood friends or your siblings. They might not get along with your parents.
But as long as they’re respectful and civil, a strong woman will appreciate their efforts.
What they won’t tolerate though is being told who they can and can’t socialize with.
And a strong woman understands the value of having a social network outside of her partnership.
Tell her to cease seeing her loved ones, and she’ll most likely show you the way out!
3. Give up on her goals
A strong woman would never, ever give up on her aspirations and dreams for a man.
First and foremost, because she has worked hard for them.
But, more importantly, any man worth being with would never ask her to do this in the first place!
He’d be encouraging and proud, not nervous and fearful. A strong woman needs a man who believes in her and does not stand in her way of achievement.
4. Ignore her intuition
Have you ever been in a scenario where your gut instinct tells you one thing but you disregard it in favor of someone else’s advice?
My hunch is that you’ll frequently regret you’d followed your instincts.
To be honest, a strong woman has most likely learnt this lesson the hard way. The majority of us do.
But she isn’t about to make the same mistake twice.
She now follows her intuition when a man urges her to do something or when a relationship doesn’t feel right.
5. Become his mother
And to end our list, another thing a strong woman would never do for a man is act like his mommy!
Yes, there are lots of males who go straight from their mother’s womb to their wife’s kitchen.
They want someone to organize their schedule, solve their problems, and do their dirty laundry.
A powerful woman, on the other hand, does not desire a man-child; she just wants a man.
6. Lose herself
Most of us have been in relationships where we’ve sacrificed so much of ourselves that we stop recognizing the person we used to be.
A strong woman has likely gone through this in the past too.
But now, she knows better.
Her individuality and independence are incredibly important to her. As I mentioned earlier, that’s why she keeps a strong social network outside of her relationship.
She wishes to retain her identity.
That’s why she’ll never fall in love with a man. The moment she feels herself slipping away, she knows it’s time to go.
7. Become submissive
And just as she won’t tolerate disrespect, she also won’t accept being told what to do or how to live her life.
In other words – she wants equality in her relationships.
That means sharing the responsibilities, whether that’s finances, household chores, or raising kids.
She understands that it is not her place to do everything merely to keep her guy happy and comfortable.
And she’s not interested in sacrificing her wants and happiness when there are plenty of terrific men out there willing to shoulder their fair share of the burden.
So, when it comes to relationships, she believes in finding a happy medium.
8. Stifle her voice
Following on from the previous point, a strong woman will not give up her voice for the sake of a guy.
We frequently hear about ladies who feel they must tiptoe around their so. They don’t express their true feelings for fear of upsetting or angering him.
A strong woman has most likely witnessed this within her own family or social groups. And she is aware that she does not wish to undergo the same destiny.
She’ll give her opinion no matter how uncomfortable it makes her man feel. She’ll tell the truth and be upfront instead of sweeping issues under the rug.
Her voice is her power and she’ll be damned if she lets a man take that from her.
