In 1972 Cynthia Shange from Lamontville, KwaZulu-Natal became the first black woman to represent the country on the Miss World pageant stage. Shange had competed in a number of pageants and was previously crowned Miss Africa South, a pageant held for black beauty queens during apartheid.
While many years have passed since she walked on the stage as a beauty queen, she continues to stun locals with her good looks and charm. A post about how beautifully she has aged just went viral.
