AWS Skills Development Bursaries 2026

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is excited to announce the 2026 Skills Development Bursary Programme, inviting applications from talented South African students.

Bursary Application Deadline: 30 September 2025
Location: South Africa (for studies at selected universities)

AWS is offering comprehensive bursaries to support high-achieving, financially disadvantaged students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in technology, business, commerce, or engineering. Special consideration is given to students with disabilities.

Eligible Fields of Study

Undergraduate Degrees:

Computer Science / Information Technology
Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil)
Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting, Finance)
Bachelor of Education (specializing in Mathematics or Science)

Postgraduate Degrees:

Honours / Postgraduate Diploma / Master’s in:
- Computer Science / Information Technology / Engineering
- Commerce (Accounting, Finance)
- Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil)

Students with Disabilities:
Eligible for all undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Bursary Coverage

The AWS Skills Development Bursary includes (subject to a cap):

Full tuition fees
Accommodation (university residence or private)
Subsistence allowance
Textbooks and stationery
A personal computer

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

Be a South African citizen
Show strong academic performance and leadership skills
For Grade 12 learners: Achieve at least 65% in Mathematics and 65% in English (Home Language or First Additional Language)
For university students: Maintain an overall academic average of 65% or higher
