Ayanda Bandla (born in Johannesburg) is a South African political sciences graduate and reality television personality known as one of the contestants on the SABC1 reality competition One Day Leader, in 2011.
Generations: The Legacy added her to their roster in 2016 as Dr. Tumelo Mokoena. She also was a presenter for the Lifetime reality show “Broken Vows” in 2017, and that same year she made a guest appearance on the NGC television series “It’s Complicated” as Lerato Motha.
So far, Ayanda’s work has been remarkable. She has also worked on South African series Obsessions, which premiered internationally. Ayanda Bandla now plays the part of Dr Anelisa Moabe on a medical drama entitled Vutha, which began broadcasting on September 3rd, 2020.

Ayanda Bandla, the talented actress who takes on the lead role of Thandiswa in etv’s thrilling new drama series Smoke & Mirrors, has opened up about the significant role played by the legendary Zimbabwean actor Leroy Gopal in shaping her career.
In this captivating show, brimming with suspense and intrigue, Bandla’s character embarks on a mission to expose three morally corrupt individuals in the small mining town of Emnyameni. She shares the screen with the talented ensemble of Zolisa Xaluva, Lusanda Mbane, Meshack Mavuso-Magabane, Angela Sithole, and Kabomo Vilakazi.
Bandla has also made her mark in other notable productions, portraying the character of Gugulethu in Identity, Katlego Nqobile in Lavish, and Lakhe Amon in uBettina Wethu. Her passion for performance art was ignited during her upbringing in Protea North, Soweto, where she discovered her love for singing as a member of school and church choirs
Bandla expressed her deep appreciation for Leroy Gopal, who not only discovered her talent but also became a cherished friend. She shared how he recognized her potential, nurturing it like a precious gem by encouraging her to participate in his acting workshops.
“I was first discovered by actor Leroy Gopal, who has turned into a very dear friend of mine. He’s the one who saw the star quality in me and motivated me to join his acting workshops. After I completed the workshops, I then decided to get an agent and got my first acting gig in 2016,” she said.
