
Skeem Saam, who plays Sergeant Innocent Babeile, tells News24 that his character will soon establish a love connection.
The actor Mathews Manamela, who’s been playing the police character Babeile for over five seasons teases fans by stating: “There’s something that’s going to happen. We are going to see an affair between him and someone whom I can’t confirm.”
His popular character’s last relationship was with Mapitsi’s older sister Sonti Magongwa (played by Pearl Nikolic), but it did not work out.
Babeile was also in a relationship with [his daughter] Lewatle’s mother, who viewers haven’t met yet.
“We haven’t seen her (on-screen), but she is somebody that Babeile was involved with, and she left us, me and Lewatle. She left us when Lewatle was still young, so I stayed with her and my mother.”
The actor Mathews Manamela also tells the publication that there’s still more to come on Skeem Saam, regarding his character’s search for the serial killer.
“There’s still more coming. I can’t say who the serial killer is, but somebody is definitely killing people in Turf.”
Fans of Sgt Babeile have seen his investigation of his colleague, Sergeant Rea Rathebe (Gontse Ntshegang) who he suspects could be the serial killer.
“It looks like there’s a link between all the murders around Turfloop. So, Babeile started investigating his partner because she seemed to be the culprit.”
