Babes Wodumo, actual name Bongekile Simelane, has revealed what fans can anticipate from her reality television show, Uthando Lodumo, which will return for a third season shortly.
After losing her husband, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, the qgom queen told Zimoja that life has been difficult, but the show must go on.
“It feels great to be getting back into the swing of things again. I had my time to grieve properly, so I’m just so excited,” she said.
The Big Nuz group member lost his life in December last year after suffering a stroke. The couple share a son together, Hlelolenkosi “Sponge” Maphumulo.
“It’s been different without my Mampintsha. I had to learn to make decisions on my own. Before I used to make decisions with Mampintsha, so I’m doing everything on my own with the help of my team, but all is well,” she added.
“A lot about how my life has been after the passing of my husband, my struggles and challenges of being a single mom having to wear my queen crown with pride and finding my feet.”
Babes said on Instagram in July that she is in the studio and that fans should prepare for new songs.
This came shortly after Isolezwe, an IsiZulu daily, stated that she is gravely ill.
At the time, the publication reported that its sources revealed that Babes was in and out of the hospital for an undisclosed reason. According to sources, Babes is gravely ill and has shortness of breath.
Another report indicated that her spouse Mampitsha’s death had taken its toll on her.
However, Babes’ sister and manager Nondumiso Simelane disputed the rumors, adding that the Wololo hitmaker was in good condition.
“[Babes Wodumo] is in great health. Maybe her quiet on social media is why many are presuming she is not well. She is now engaged with two albums, her own and Mampintshas,” Nondumiso said.
