Zodwa Wabantu will square off against Khanyi Mbau in “the first-ever female celebrity exhibition boxing match-up on the African continent.”
South Africa’s Queen of Bling, actress and reality TV sensation Khanyi Mbau, will enter the boxing ring on 22 to face notorious dancer and socialite Zodwa Wabantu, real name Zodwa Rebecca Libram, at the Ridge Hotel in Mpumalanga.
According to the publication, promoter Arnold “Squire” Nododile confirmed the boxing match details between Zodwa Wabantu and Khanyi Mbau. He was quoted as saying, “This will be the first-ever female celebrity exhibition boxing match-up in the African continent since such fights have become part and parcels of the evolution of boxing around the globe.” Tickets are available at Computicket for as little as R250 for general tickets, R400 for ringside tickets, and R1000 for VIP tickets. Other opponents will also be stepping into the ring that night.
Mapule Ngubane of South Africa will compete against Charuty Mukami Mujwiri of Kenya. Sazisiwe Simon of South Africa will compete against Pamela Matunga of Zimbabwe. Matshidiso Mokatsane of the Free State will face Monalisa Takane of the Eastern Cape, while Asanda Simelane of the North West will face Nomfundo Xaba of KwaZulu-Natal.
Fans of Khanyi Mbau believe she will win the next celebrity boxing bout at the Ridge Hotel in Mpumalanga against influencer Zodwa Rebecca Libram, aka Zodwa Wabantu.
Because of Mbau and Wabantu’s vast social media following, promoter Arnold “Squire” Nododile anticipates a large turnout.
Nododile further claims that the bout between the socialites would be the African continent’s first female celebrity exhibition boxing match.
