Cornet Mamabolo encourages ‘new’ Thabo on ‘Skeem Saam’
Cornet Mamabolo, a former Skeem Saam performer, has encouraged Hungani Ndlovu to persevere after his debut on the show elicited mixed comments.
Hungani’s character T’bose, who was formerly played by Cornet before he departed the role, appeared on the popular daily drama series on Monday.
Cornet took to Twitter to tell Hungani to stay strong and keep giving his best because it is what the trade (acting) requires.
Hungani welcomed the actor’s guidance in response to the encouraging comments.
“My brother, it’s the only way.” THE PLAYING HAS STARTED! I’m not going to take anything personally today or tomorrow. We’ve been doing this for decades, you know. “I appreciate it, king,” he said.
A similar situation happened in showbiz not long ago when Wiseman Mncube took over as Mqhele on Showmax’s The Wife from Bonko Khoza. He, too, received mixed reactions, with some advocating for Bonko’s return.
Bonko resorted to Twitter to respond to critics who suggested he portrayed the role better.
“I hope that one day, the audience and the creators can be on the same page because there is a significant disconnect between what happens behind the scenes and what the public sees.” This character is not my creation.
“It’s Sis Dudu and Showmax’s.” That is, it can be played by anybody wants to. As for me, I did my part. “And now it’s time to give other actors the same big platform that I was given,” he added.
