DJ Maphorisa sparked outrage after reposting a photo of Thuli Phongolo on his Instagram stories.
While many fans believed the couple split due to an assault case, the photo appears to suggest otherwise.
Phori posting Thuli’s picture has also fuelled other rumours that he is the one who paid for her alleged BBL.
In all fairness, the pair never said they broke up but announced that they would solve their problems privately.
In a joint statement that Thuli and Phori released amid the assault case, the pair stated they had elected to resolve their matter privately through their respective management and legal teams.
“Being public figures, it is unavoidable that the public, media, and their respective commercial partners all have an interest in this matter.
“The matter has received mixed public attention, causing a great deal of emotional stress on both parties involved,” the statement added.
Following the statement, netizens commented that Thuli was giving the middle finger to those who supported her when she filed assault charges against Maphorisa, while others expressed disappointment with DJ Maphorisa, citing the high gender-based violence statistics in SA.
“DJ Maphorisa honestly disappointed me after so many cases of gender-based violence we have been through and him committing one… big up to Thuli P, let’s protect her , not attack her.”
