After missing the ninth installment, Dwayne Johnson made a surprise return to the Fast and Furious franchise.
The wrestler-turned-actor, 51, appeared in the post-credits scene of Fast X, which was released on May 19, 2023.
Following a fallout with the franchise’s lead actor Vin Diesel, the actor known to many as The Rock appeared to say goodbye to the Fast family in previous years. The two, on the other hand, appear to have put an end to their feud.
The feud between the duo resulted in them no longer working together on the Fast & Furious franchise and Dwayne went to star in 2019 Fast and Furious spin-off called Hobbs & Shaw.
Dwayne joined the Fast family as US agent Luke Hobbs in 2011. His character received critical acclaim in Fast 5, and he reprised the role in Fate and Furious.
After the release of F9 in 2021. Despite pleas from fans and Diesel, Dwayne Johnson said there was “no chance” he would return to the series.
Many people did not expect to see The Rock return to the franchise, but he appeared in the post-credits scene, much to the delight of the Fast universe.
Dwayne confirmed his return this week.
“So I am absolutely confirming to you guys all over the world that yes, it is true.” Hobbs is back,” he announced on Twitter.
“Hobbs is making a comeback in the Fast & Furious franchise.”
“Last summer, Vin and I put all of the past behind us,” Dwayne continued.
“We’ll lead with brotherhood and resolve – and always look after the franchise, characters, and FANS we care about.”
