Emtee is a dr.ug addict who abu.sed me, according to his divorced wife.
Chantel Chinsamy, Emteeās estranged wife, has dropped a bombshell by alleging that the multi-award-winning artist is a dru.g user.
Chinsamyās shocking allegations are contained in a police statement she filed at the Midrand Police Station in Johannesburg, where she had opened a case against the rapper for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm (GBH).
Chinsamy claimed that Emtee uses dru.gs in the statement, which was compiled by constable KE Makamola.
But she didnāt say what kind of dru.gs the hip hop proponent allegedly uses.
The brief statement we have seen reads as follows:
āThe complainant claims on social media that her husband is assaulting her and invading her privacy.ā
Mthembeni Ndevu is the husbandās name, and he can be reached at (phone number withheld). The complainant also claims to be a dru.g user. A case docket has been opened for additional police investigations.ā
The dru.g allegations were never tested in court because Chinsamy withdrew the case before it could be tried.
The damning allegations will forever hang over the megastarās head because he did not challenge them when he asked the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) to drop the domestic violence case against him at the Midrand Magistrateās court last month.
The talented songwriter, who has repeatedly denied being a dr.ug addict on social media, only welcomed the dismissal of the criminal case with mixed feelings, saying it will leave a dark cloud over his head because, in the eyes of the public, he remains a woman hater.
Chinsamy, who has three children with the muso, dropped the case because she had reached out to the artist on behalf of their children.
Emtee denied assaulting Chinsamy in his representations, which were submitted to the court by his lawyer Dumisani Motsamai.
āWhen formally charged, the accused denied the charges preferred against him in his statement to the police.ā
āHad there been no withdrawal statement, the matter would have proceeded to trial, and the accused would have been called upon to plead to the charges prior to that.ā
āThe accused would have entered a not guilty plea.ā This is because, while admitting that an altercation occurred between himself and his wife on February 14, 2023, the accused vehemently denies ever assaulting her.ā
Motsamai stated that Emtee wished the matter could have been resolved in a full trial in open court, where he could have led his defence and eventually been acquitted.
āIn fact, the net effect of the withdrawal is that Emtee missed out on the opportunity to clear his name,ā said Motsamai.
āRegardless of whether the charges are dropped, there will always be this cloud over his head that he is a woman hater.ā
āThis is the image he will forever bear in the eyes of the public.ā The accused is therefore conflicted about the complainantās decision to withdraw the charges.ā
Emtee denied being high on dru.gs. āFirst and foremost, I have no idea what sheās talking about because Iām not on drugs,ā he explained.
