Job Purpose

To support the team leader in wastewater collection tasks, including clearing sewer blockages and maintaining the sewer network.

Application Requirements

Basic literacy
Ability to perform physical duties
Relevant experience in wastewater collection network maintenance (advantageous)
Physical fitness and good health (no back problems)
Willingness to undergo a criminal record check, including fingerprinting by the Tshwane Metro Police Department (at own cost)

Availability to work shifts, standby, and overtime as required

Primary Functions

Clear sewer blockages
Excavate and backfill trenches using shovels, pickaxes, rakes, and rammers for sewer pipe repairs
Load and unload equipment, materials, and tools from the plumber’s truck
Operate water pumping equipment
Assist with aligning and fitting water pipe sections during repairs
