Siyabonga Sepotokele is a renowned and respected South African actor and singer. He is famous for playing two dubious roles: Mac’able on Impilo: The Scam and Karabo on The Republic. The actor has starred in numerous movies and television shows, and this has showcased his unmatched prowess in the entertainment industry.
Over the years, the outstanding South African actor has played important roles in the cinema and television industries. Karektas season 2, Broken Vows, Grassroots, Impilo: The Scam, and Isibaya are some of his major productions.He is now starring in the etv drama series Smoke and Mirrors as Sakhile.
Siyabonga grew up in Orlando East, Soweto. Siya was born on October 23, 1996, and is therefore 27 years old. Siya is the son of the late Phyllis Sepotokele and Shadrack Ta Sello Ntsibande. His parents were both unemployed, but they made sure he had all he needed. Siya’s mother died of cervical cancer in January 2017. His mother died two months after he landed his first acting job on Keeping Score as Le-Hasa.
After his elementary education in Sivuleleni Primary School, Siya joined Zifuneleni Junior Secondary School in Soweto. He was actively involved in the two famous Soweto Choirs while in high school. He was an excellent student not only in his co-curricular activities but also in his academics.
At the age of 15, he attained a full scholarship from St. David’s Marist Inanda, a prominent Johannesburg-based private high school, to pursue his high school education.
After finishing high school, he enrolled at Wits University to pursue a career in music. He stopped attending classes at the university after a few months. He was conflicted and chose to abandon music. He went on to pursue a career in acting, despite his parents’ displeasure at seeing him leave school for the stage.
The actor is off the market, according to him.During an interview, he stated that his current interests are the job and his girlfriend. “I am with someone who has helped me progress, and that is awesome,” he said.
Siyabonga began auditioning for other roles after quitting his music studies. Fortunately, he received his first role in the SABC 2 serial Keeping Score. He played Lehasa, Mmamosa’s youngest son who inherited his mother’s money sense, sex appeal, and attractiveness. In the middle of 2016, he got a small cameo role on Season 4 of the Mzansi Magic soap opera titled IsiBaya. Since then, he has been in a number of TV shows.
Even though he quit his studies in music, his talent as a singer still stands out. In 2013, Siyabonga Raymond Sepotokele’s singing expertise was seen during the Lovermore Yamaha music competition, which was hosted by Roedean School every year.
The competition focuses on classical repertoire, and participation is solely up to candidates undertaking an external music examination. The opening round of the competition took place on June 3, where he performed two pieces. Siyabonga Sepotokele’s songs during the competition were Where You Walk and Not While I’m Around. He performed an exceptional performance in the final round of the tournament, earning him R3,500 in Lovermore Music vouchers.
