Selena Gomez, full name Selena Marie Gomez, (born July 22, 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas, United States), is an American actress and singer who rose to prominence as the endearing star of the Disney television series Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12) and as a pop vocalist.
Selena Gomez was raised in suburban Dallas and was named after popular Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez.
She rose to prominence as Alex Russo in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. Selena Gomez & the Scene was formed in 2008.

She was named after famed singer Selena Quintanilla. Her parents are Mandy Teefey and Ricardo Joel Gomez. She has two half-sisters named Gracie and Tori. She had an on-off relationship with pop star Justin Bieber.
She also previously dated R&B singer The Weeknd, actor Taylor Lautner and DJ Anton Zaslavski, AKA Zedd. Her mother remarried to a man named Brian Teefey. In May 2022, she confirmed she was single. In August 2022, rumors spread that she was dating producer Andrea Iervolino.
From 2007 to 2009, she co-starred with Miley Cyrus in three episodes of Hannah Montana.
