MamSonto, played by veteran actress Connie Chiume, will leave the Mzansi Magic telenovela Gomora in September.
The TVSA Gomora September teasers confirm Zibuko’s death of MamSonto.
The teaser for Friday, September 8th, reads, “Guns go off between Zibuko and Sonto – someone gets shot.”
The teaser for Tuesday, September 12, confirms that MamSonto was shot, died, and will be buried by her daughter Pretty.
Zibuko and MamSonto have been at war since Thati accidentally shot and killed his girlfriend, Mazet.
Mazet, who was also MamSonto’s adopted daughter, was secretly buried by Zibuko, who also gave her kidney to his sister.
Connie Chiume, who plays MamSonto in Gomora and was a Rythm City actress, told TshisaLIVE in June that she will miss the people she worked with.
Chiume added that after four years of working together, Gomora’s cast and crew became a big family because they bonded and got to know one another.
The actress also stated that she will miss the team they worked with, from the actors to the crew, and that they worked with very professional people. They made certain that the written stories appeared exactly as they do on scree.
The veteran actress also stated that she enjoyed playing the unfamiliar villainous character [MamSonto].
M-Net confirmed in April that Gomora would end in October 2023 in order to keep up with changing consumer viewing preferences.
