In the latest developments of the popular e.tv telenovela “House of Zwide,” the character Thato, portrayed by newcomer Tebogo Sefora, is set to challenge traditional romantic narratives.
According to the August teasers from TVSA, Thato, who is introduced as Mampho’s cousin and Maria’s nephew, may not have any romantic interest in women, particularly regarding his relationship with Ona, played by Nefisa Mkhabela.
Instead, the teasers suggest that Thato will openly discuss his sexuality, leading to Mampho’s inquiry about his orientation to Laz, played by Khaya Dlanga. This revelation arrives as viewers had anticipated a potential romance between Thato and Ona following her breakup with Neo.
Friday 2 August:
“Thato opens up to Ona about his sexuality. While Mampho asks Laz how she already knew Thato was gay.”
The show continues to captivate audiences, boasting over 4 million views and solidifying its status as e.tv’s most-watched program, especially with the recent addition of notable actors like Mduduzi Mabaso from “Rhythm City.”
The fan-favourite show House of Zwide features popular actors Motlatsi Mafatshe, Winnie Ntshabe, Londeka Mchunu, and others. In the current storyline, Funani announces his resignation as CEO of House of Zwide and relocates to KwaZulu-Natal to spend more time with his father.
Funani also grapples with the guilt of killing Nandipha (KB Motsilanyane), who had kidnapped his granddaughter. Meanwhile, Kele Molapo decides to quit her DJ career to focus on her studies after her manager issued a threat.
