“My mother did an outstanding job. I lavish her with affection. My mother used to give me R100 every month when I was in school, and she still does. Every month, R100 is deposited into my account.”
Mafatshe adds that his mother has not cancelled the stop order despite the fact that he has begun working, had children, and married.
“My sister’s also get R100’s. I am sure they’ve saved theirs. I was like. I love this. This is amazing, so I’ll always be thankful for that. Because she’s been doing it since forever. I also have to give her money every month. She gives R100, I give her a lot more.”
When radio personality and podcaster David Mashabela asks actor Motlatsi Mafatshe if he feels obligated to give money to his mother, he responds, “I have to.” It motivates me to work even harder for the rest of my life.”
“It shouldn’t be called a black tax.” The black tax is a narcissistic behavior. They’re teaching you to be self-centered. “This is your family.”

TshisaLIVE reported in April that Mafatshe revealed that despite his efforts to make his previous marriage work, he and his ex-wife agreed to divorce amicably.
“In my case, it felt like a mutual thing,” the star said of his relationship with actress Gabisile Tshabala. I believe the love affair ended. We both said, ‘I’m not happy,’ I remember. I’m very happy right now because she [Gabi] makes me happy.”
