In a since deleted tweet, Nadia Nakai broke down how she no longer fears death anymore.
The South African rapper who is still mourning the loss of her partner and fellow artist, Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes, shared how she can’t bring herself to even listen to his music because his voice causes her to breakdown.
Nadia, who is popularly called ‘Bragga’ by her fans, says people always say things like, ‘take things a day at a time,’ or ‘he’s not here physically but is with you in spirit,’ but questioned the validity of those words.
The slain “Mass Country” artist’s death is still being investigated by the police five months on.
Sharing a few tweets, Nakai wrote: “I can’t listen to his songs… his voice… hai I can’t.”
The now-deleted tweet read: “I miss him so much… I don’t fear death anymore because I know I might see him… nothing wrong with that. That smile? I can actually go hey…”.
Another one read: “What is south Aaah without Aka?”
Before the assassination in February, Nakai and AKA were South Africa’s power couple.
Nakai is not the only one who is struggling to accept his death. The Megacy, AKA’s admirers, claim they were also left with a big gap in their hearts.
Nakai and AKA started secretly dating in 2021 and went public by attending red-carpet events together, sharing loved-up posts on Instagram and getting his and her tattoos. AKA was previously in a relationship with Anele Tembe, who died after she allegedly fell from the 10th floor of a hotel in Cape Town.
“South Africa wouldn’t be complete without the electrifying presence of AKA! His talent and charisma is forever gonna be missed,” said @DividendIncome_.
Meanwhile, Nakai also let slip that AKA and “Sete” hitmaker, K.O, had made a music offering together.
She tweeted: “There’s a song, Kiernan did with K.O. (Not out yet) but he was soooo proud of his verse… I hope K.O drops It!!! Please do! @MrCashtime.”
She added the verse: “It’s hard to be stand-up guy and stand the test or time” Skanda God! Meeeeega!!!!” #Godly…“
The rapper’s death left many numb, heartbroken and devastated.
Bragga has been quite outspoken about the hurt she’s suffering due to her boyfriend’s death.
