Lungelo Mpangase, a South African actress, model, and influencer, left him sad and bankrupt after reportedly conniving him out of R150,000 in a twisted plot.
Lungelo Mpangase is accused of duping the man into covering her excessive costs and allowances while posing as his girlfriend.
According to Harare.com, the man, whose identity remains a mystery, met Lungelo Mpangase online and was instantly smitten by her beauty and charm. He believed that she was genuinely interested in him and that they had a future together. However, he soon found himself trapped in a web of lies and deceit.
According to sources close to the case, Lungelo Mpangase employed a variety of measures to get the man to pay for her extravagant lifestyle. She said that she needed money for her car installment, which was R80,000.
She reportedly sought an R30,000 monthly ‘girlfriend stipend’ for her own needs and costs. She also urged him to buy her expensive gifts, such as R22,000 LV sneakers. As if that weren’t enough, she also stole R20,000 from him for no apparent reason.
The man’s friends and family, who initially celebrated his newfound romance, became worried and concerned as they witnessed his life spiralling out of control. They tried to warn him about Lungelo Mpangase’s possible ulterior motives and urged him to be careful with his money. However, he refused to listen to them and defended his girlfriend at all costs.
He soon realised his mistake when Lungelo Mpangase disappeared without a trace, leaving him heartbroken and bankrupt. He discovered that she had blocked him on all social media platforms and changed her phone number. He also found out that she had been involved in similar scams before and that he was not her only victim.
The treachery upset the man, who felt humiliated and ashamed. He informed the authorities and hoped that Lungelo Mpangase would be apprehended and brought to justice.
