‘Kelly knows something,’ says Malema of Senzo Meyiwa’s murder.
According to EFF leader Julius Malema, he is more than convinced that Kelly Khumalo is involved in the murder of Senzo Meyiwa.
An old video of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema commenting on former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa’s murder trial has resurfaced.
Colonel Lambertus Steyn, a data analyst and investigating officer, revealed that singer Kelly Khumalo had contact with some of the accused in the murder case.
Meyiwa was shot and wounded on October 26, 2014, at the home of his girlfriend and singer Kelly Khumalo in Vosloorus, as previously reported.Five men are on trial for the soccer player’s murder.
Fisokuhle Nkani Ntuli, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa, and Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya. They face charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances, firearms possession without a license, and ammunition possession.
Malema says in the clip, which is from a media briefing held by the EFF in 2022, that they believe Meyiwa was murdered and that the people who were in the house at the time killed him.
“We are more than convinced, and I am personally convinced that Kelly knows something.” I am convinced she is aware of something. “There must be a way to keep her,” the leader said.
Steyn told the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Thursday, 27 July, that Khumalo and accused 5 were in contact, with the last call on 15 October 2014, just days before Meyiwa was killed.
The data analyst also told the court that Khumalo’s cellphone, which was allegedly stolen when Meyiwa was shot, was near a hostel in Vosloorus around 22:43 that night. Following the incident, Steyn revealed links between accused 1 and Khumalo.
