Lerato Mvelase (née Moloisane, born September 7, 1982, in Diepkloof) is a South African actress and television presenter. People fell in love with her charisma on and off the screen once she was cast in Home Affair.
For four (4) years (2005–2009), she played Katlego in the SABC1 drama series. Wouldn’t it be great to watch her in action? She earned the lead role as Princess in Home Sweet Home. In 2011, she portrayed a character who is clever, attractive, ambitious, and responsible in the SABC2 comedy. The same year, Lerato starred as Yoliswa in the SABC1 mini-series Shreds and Dreams.
She was born on September 7, 1982, and her place of birth is Diepkloof, Soweto, South Africa. She has been in the entertainment industry for a very long time and started acting when she was young. During her days in school, Lerato was active in theater productions. She participated for several years and then finally, she decided to make it her profession.
The brilliant actress attended Sacred Heart College. She performed in various theatre performances while attending college. Her enthusiasm for entertainment grew so strong that she decided to pursue it.

Khanyisile Mbau replaced her after she continued to appear in season two (2). Playing a lead role on she appeared again in Home Affairs in 2005. As an actress, she has made an appearance on many theatre productions. In 1995, she appeared on Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by Claire Stopford.
Grease, a production directed by Karen de Abreu, premiered in Lerato in 1999. She also had a major cameo in Keith Smith’s 2004 Theatre production, Moulin Rouge. The actress is multilingual, speaking English, South Sotho, Tswana, Zulu, and Xhosa.
She can also do accents quite well. Lerato claims to be able to talk in a variety of accents. She is fluent in British (straight) and Cockney accents, as well as American and Cape Colored. Lerato, a well-known television personality, took over as presenter of Kaelo-Stories of Home from Joel Zuma. In 2013, she took over as presenter of the e.tv docu-reality series.
Playing a starring role, she was cast as Dipuo Nuru, the character is a journalist in Thola, an SABC2 thriller. She also landed another guest-starring role on The Road, an Mzansi Magic telenovela. On another popular show isiBaya, Lerato landed a recurring role. On the Mzansi Magic show, she was cast as Lt. Samkelo Mkhize and appeared first on the fourth season on the one hundred and twenty-first episode.
She has a brother who is not a newbie in the entertainment industry. Lerato brother’s name is ProVerb, Idols presenter and a popular rapper.
Aside from her work as an actress and television personality, she excels at the role of mother. Makayla Mvelase and Nkanyezi Samukelisiwe Mvelase are her two (2) gorgeous daughters.
She was also involved with Siyabonga Radebe. Lerato left the relationship after discovering Radebe was cheating on her with another lady. After a few moments, Radebe realized that the problem was on his end, and the comedian and actor apologized.
The actress, who appeared to be against polygamy, may have reconsidered her position. She played Sibongile Mkhize on the television drama isiBaya. She played a police officer who falls in love with polygamist Mpiyakhe Zungu in the drama series. She eventually became his third wife.
