Internationally recognized actor Sello Maake KaNcube, known for his compelling performances in the South African television drama “Skeem Saam,” has recently found himself embroiled in a personal scandal that has surprised many of his fans and industry peers alike.
The 48-year-old artist is reportedly demanding paternity tests from his two children’s mothers, Minenhle Mosoti and another unnamed woman, due to his suspicions regarding their fidelity during their relationships. In a letter submitted to his lawyers at Mathebe Attorneys, KaNcube expressed his desire to establish whether he is the biological father of the children and outlined a clear intention to include them in his forthcoming will, should the DNA tests confirm his parentage, according to Sunday World
"After careful consideration, I would like assistance in getting a summons to request a paternity test for the child I might have with the second respondent, Mmatshilo Motsei," reads the letter he wrote last week.
The actor’s allegations have roots in turbulent dynamics with Mosoti, who, according to him, had previously threatened to abort their child and appeared to have had extramarital encounters, particularly during an incident where he claims he discovered a man in their home while he was abroad in London.
"Very early in her pregnancy, she threatened to abort the child, and this threat continued for several months into her pregnancy. I endured the most with this one, and she knows her truth, and I know my truth."
"To make you understand who Mmatshilo is as a person, when I left for London, we decided to fix our relationship and get back together. A month into my stay in London, when I called her, my son made me aware that there was a man in the house with them.…"
KaNcube recounted feelings of betrayal, as he had made efforts to rekindle their relationship, only to confront personal challenges upon learning of her alleged infidelity. The situation was exacerbated by difficulties surrounding the payment of their child’s college fees, which KaNcube claims Mosoti has been improperly managing.
He articulated a deep need to clarify his paternal role, emphasizing that understanding his children’s true lineage is vital for him to embrace his responsibilities as a father. He further said Motsei also prohibited the child from visiting him when he was plying his trade across the pond.
“I asked for the child to come visit with me and my other adult and teenage children. I had already bought tickets, but because she wanted me to come back with her at the time and when I refused, she then said that her ancestors were refusing for the child to come visit me. What and which ancestors reject a child’s biological heritage?” reads the letter, to which Motsei replied and said she would do the tests.
Sunday World also learnt that Maake kaNcube wrote to the other baby Winnie Xulu demanding a DNA test.Sunday World has Maake kaNcube has been supporting the child after the mother turned him when he returned from London about 14 years ago he is the father.Although he wants the child to be his, he doubts he is the father.
