Makhadzi took to Instagram this week to pay respect to her Diep City co-star, Lebohang Mpyana, who died on Wednesday, November 1, after a brief illness.
“RIP my friend. I am still shocked,” wrote Makhadzi.
Skeem Saam actor Clement Maosa took to Makhadazi’s post to also pay tribute to the Diep City actress Lebohang ‘Lettie’ Mpyana, who passed away at the age of 34 this week.
Maosa revealed he’s very angry about Mpyana’s passing and that life is not fair: “Nna ke kwatile (I’m angry) … life is not fair.”
Black Brain Pictures, who produced Diep City also paid tribute to the award-winning actress in a statement to Sowetan.
“We remember her fondly for her captivating performance as Khelina in the show DiepCity. Her talent illuminated our screens and her presence enriched her peers on set and behind the scenes. We will forever cherish her contributions to Black Brain Pictures and the world of TV.”
The family spokesperson T Mpyana released a statement on Thursday morning, 2 November on the actress’s Facebook account which read:
“It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our daughter Lebogang Mpyana. Lebo died after a short illness. We ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers in this time of bereavement. Memorial service and funeral service details will follow”.
