A devastating discovery has rocked the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the nation at large. The bodies of three individuals believed to be the missing constables — Cebekhulu Linda (24), Boipelo Senoge (20), and Keamogetswe Buys (24) — have been discovered during an intense search operation in Hennops River, Centurion, just off the N1 highway.
These young officers were last seen six days ago, en route to their deployment in Limpopo. Authorities suspect the trio were hijacked and kidnapped in what is now being investigated as a coordinated attack against police personnel.
⚠️ A Crime Scene of High Activity
Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed the heartbreaking development earlier today.
“The SAPS confirms that its investigation has brought it to the Hennops River in Centurion along the N1. We have three bodies so far whose identities are yet to be confirmed. We are searching for another body and for any other evidence that will assist us in concluding the case,” she stated.
A police source described the scene as “very active” with divers, choppers, and forensic teams combing the area for more clues.
🎥 [WATCH]: Police, Pathologists & Emergency Services at the Scene
Footage shared by @ttmbele and SowetanLIVE shows the intense atmosphere at the scene. Dozens of police officials, forensic pathologists, and emergency response teams are seen working around the riverbanks as the recovery operation continues.
💔 Families Notified, Await Confirmation
In an emotional turn, Mathe also revealed that General Commissioner Fannie Masemola has sent a special team to personally notify the families.
“It is difficult for us. The general commissioner has sent a team to fetch the families of these three police officers, but we have not identified who these three bodies are — there are still processes underway,” Mathe said.
🚨 What We Know So Far:
- The three constables disappeared en route to Limpopo last week.
- Authorities believe they were hijacked and kidnapped.
- Three bodies have been found in the Hennops River — identities unconfirmed.
- Forensics and emergency services are still on-site, searching for a possible fourth body or further evidence.
- Families have been called in for support and preliminary identification processes.
This is a developing story. More updates will follow as SAPS and forensic teams complete their investigations and identity confirmations.
