His parents raised him under Christian doctrine with his other siblings. This influenced his beliefs, and he was active in activities in his church. He continued to take part in the activities in his church until he became a youth leader for his church.
Before appearing on screen, he participated in theater productions. In the early days of his career, Mathe landed a role in John Kani and Wiston Ntshona’s theater piece titled The Island. He played a huge role in the founding of the theater group Black Brains in Action Production. Later, he appeared among other hopefuls auditioning for a role onscreen.
