On Thursday, September 21, the popular character Mlungisi, played by Imbewu: The Seed actor Nkanyiso Mchunu, left Umkhokha: The Curse viewers in tears.
Mlungisi from Umkhokha: The Curse killed himself by jumping from a building after partying with his brothers Khulekani and Siphamandla.
Before Mlungisi and his wife, Nokubonga, could announce their pregnancy, viewers witnessed Mvelase’s image collapse. The image foreshadowed a storm in the family.
Mkhululi is the third member of the Mzobe family to die, following Mamzobe’s first-born daughter Xolile and her father, Baba MZobe.
Mamzobe is the cause of the curse in the family as she never lashed Bab’ Mzobe and Xolile’s bodies when they also committed suicide.
Mlungisi also died because he didn’t listen to his father, Mvelase’s warning, who revealed that he should step down and let his brother Sphamandla (Nay Maps) lead the church.
But he didn’t pay attention since his mother, Mamzobe, was influencing him and plotting to steal from the church.
Mamzobe would lose all of her children after stealing her father’s ancestral bag, according to the first season.The September TVSA teasers further indicate that Mkhulu’s half-brothers, Khulekani or Siphamandla, must whip his body to break the family curse.
DSTV has confirmed that Mchunu, who exited the faith-based telenovela last night has joined Mzansi Magic’s upcoming telenovela My Brother’s Keeper.
