On Tuesday, August 29, the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court heard in detail about Nandipha Magudumana’s relationship and alleged criminal activities with convicted r@pist, murderer, and fraudster Thabo Bester.
In her bail application, the celebrity aesthetics doctor made several shocking statements.
However, while Magudumana’s representatives argue that bail is her constitutional right, the state contends that the woman who conspired to free her lover from prison and then fled the country should not be released.The bail application will continue on Wednesday.
Nandipha met Thabo Bester in 2006 while studying theology at Wits.

Despite previous reports by Laerskool Danie Theron that Bester’s highest education was up to grade 7, this is not the case.
Despite the fact that she was married, Bester paid lobola for her.Magadumana claims she and Bester started dating in 2017 and that he paid lobola for her in 2020. Nandipha, who married Mkhuseli Magudumana in 2013, claims she had only separated from her husband.
Nandipha dropped off her two children at their respective schools on 15 March 2023. Unbeknownst to her family, she then skipped the country with Bester.
According to an investigating order, she only made one call to her husband during her incarceration.
In 2021, the businesswoman was suspended from the HPCSA. Magudumana is not a registered doctor, according to the regulatory body.
She was ‘forced’ to flee the country by Thabo Bester.The most shocking revelation of the day, however, was Nandipha’s claim that she was forced to flee the country against her will.
She said in her statement: “I was instructed and commanded by accused five to get into a vehicle and leave the premises to a destination unknown to me at the time. I refused and wanted an explanation, but he forced me into a vehicle. I succumbed to the pressure due to the threats he directed at me. I complied with his instructions and was taken out of the country against my will.”
Nandipha claims she can afford the R10,000 bail if she is granted it.
She claims she will live with a friend after her release.The bail application will be heard again on Wednesday, August 30.
