Dr Nandipha Magudumana appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 4 September, where she was expected to apply for bail; she was spotted heavily praying and appeared desperate, which divided netizens in the comment section.
Dr. Nandipha Magudumana can be seen praying while seated in a court dock. According to IOL, the controversial doctor is accused of fraud, corruption, violating a corpse, defeating the ends of justice, assisting and abetting an inmate’s escape from lawful custody, corruption, concealing an escaped offender, and arson.
According to TimesLIVE, nine of her co-accused have been granted bail by various courts, while her boyfriend, murderer and rapist Thabo Bester, and another accused have withdrawn their applications. Magudumana originally dropped her bail application. She is, however, now willing to pay R10,000 for her bail. Magudumana’s lawyer, Machini Motloung, argued that she would not be a flight risk because she has family and occupational ties in the country, according to SABC.
