Shalate Sekhabi is a dedicated and goal-oriented lady who always strives for perfection in her profession. She was only eight years old when she discovered her passion and what it takes to have a winning career in movie acting after joining her school choir and drama club.
Shalate Sekhabi was born on the 6th of April 2000. She was raised in Mafikeng, North-West Province, South Africa.
Shalate Sekhabi graduated from Crawford College in Pretoria in 2018 and enrolled at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2019 to study cinema and television.
At the age of 14, she made her first movie debut in two short films titled “A Cup of Sugar,” directed by Xolile Tshabalala, which was consequently followed by her debut in another movie titled “Making a Killing,” directed by Justine Head.
The actress always knew she wanted to be an actress. From the time she was only eight years old. She managed to get her parents’ support on her career choice. Shalate studied Film and Television at the University of Witwatersrand. In 2014 she debuted her acting career when cast in two short films Making a killing and a cup of sugar. In 2021 she got her first significant television role on House of Zwide, which replaced Rhythm City on etv.
