The TVSA Skeem Saam September teasers also hint that the Maputlas would be intrigued when an unexpected family member returns home, but do not explain who this family member is.
The teaser for Thursday, September 28th states, “The Maputlas are left curious when a family member unexpectedly returns home.”
Since he ‘left’ the instructional soapie on July 28, viewers have been wondering when actor Hungani Ndlovu, who plays the second Tbose Maputla, will return.
Audiences also praised actor Hungani Ndlovu for his role as Tbose after the SABC1 soapie Skeem Saam reached over 5 million viewers in July.
Ndlovu took over the role in July after popular actor Cornet Mamabolo exited the soapie in 2021 as the first Tbose Maputla.
Though it is unknown whether the returning Maputla member is Tbose or Leeto, Skeem Saam stated in July on their Twitter account that actor Hungani Ndlovu, who joined the show in season 12, has not left the show.
After Ndlovu’s character flew to Cape Town, his brother, Leeto Maputla (played by Eric Macheru), flew to Johannesburg.
Viewers of the soap opera were also uncertain whether the popular character had returned to Singapore or had gone to Cape Town for work at the time.
The teasers could also be referring to Macheru’s character, who hasn’t been seen in the instructional soapie in over a month.
Leeto is mentioned in the TVSA teasers on Monday, September 18 when he surprises his colleagues and on Friday, September 29 when he delivers a bombshell on his family.
