Thando Thabethe (born June 18, 1990) is a South African multi-talented actress, talk show host, and media personality.
She rose to international prominence after being named one of Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30. She is a disc jockey who has worked for the well-known South African radio station 5FM.
She was named the first African ambassador for the well-known brand Nivea as a result of her work ethics and personality.
Thandi Thabooty Thabethe was born on June 18, 1999, in Soweto.She was raised by her mother after her father died when she was 13 years old. Her brother was shot during an armed robbery in 2015. She went to Mondeor High School.
Thandi Thabooty Thabethe attended Mondeor High School.After graduation, she attended the prestigious University of Johannesburg to pursue a bachelor’s degree in commerce and accounting. She earned the degree in 2011.
Thandi Thabooty Thabethe has had careers in acting and media. She has excelled in both of them. Her career in media as a radio host and presenter started in her final year at the University of Johannesburg.
She worked as a newsreader for the university radio station and later as a host for a show on the station. After graduation, she worked as the host of Audio Treat on the popular radio station YFM.
In 2011, she also appeared in the DSTV documentary Mindset Learn. She became the host of a reality talent show in 2014. In 2016 and 2017, she co-hosted the South African Music Awards and the South African Film and Television Awards. She hosted her own talk show, Thabooty, which aired until 2020.
Thandi Thabooty Thabethe was active in theater productions during her adolescence before landing her first television role at the age of 14. As a university student, she also participated in theater productions at the UJ Arts Centre.
She rose to prominence in the acting world after landing the role of Thando Nkosi in the South African television series My Perfect Family. She has since appeared in several shows as a main character, a guest star, or in a supporting role. Mrs. Right Guy, her first film, starred Thapelo Mokoena and Lehasa Moloi.
She was named a Nivea brand ambassador in 2014, making her the company’s first African brand ambassador.
Thando Thabethe is not married and does not have any children. Her engagement to Frans Mashao was dissolved.
Unconfirmed rumors claim that Frans Mashao was unfaithful and cheated during the engagement period, but she has refused to confirm or deny the rumors, claiming that she does not need to explain why the engagement was called off.
She agreed to give a speech to students preparing for their matriculation exams at her high school.
There is a widespread misconception that Thando Thabethe is related to Ayanda Thabethe; however, this is untrue. Thando, a South African personality, has previously dated Lunga Shabalala.
