The Meyiwa family claims to have not seen Senzo’s daughter since his murder.
‘Kelly Khumalo doesn’t answer the phone’: Senzo Meyiwa’s family says they want to have a relationship with his daughter.
Sifiso Meyiwa, Senzo Meyiwa’s brother, says they want to have a relationship with his daughter, whom he shares with singer Kelly Khumalo, but she is refusing to cooperate.
Sifiso spoke extensively about the ongoing murder trial during his interview with eNCA. He also discussed their family’s alleged non-existence relationship with Thingo Khumalo, the murdered Bafana Bafana goalkeeper’s daughter.
“We first saw her when Senzo Meyiwa was still alive. Kelly had been brought home by her mother and Senzo.”We would love to see her and have a relationship with her,” Sifiso said.
He explained that after Senzo’s death, their sister, Nokuthula, tried calling Kelly, but she would allegedly not pick up.
“After Senzo died, Nokuthula would contact Kelly, but she would not answer her calls. We also tried contacting them [the Khumalos] with my mother’s older sister but they did want to hear it,” Sifiso added.
Thingo was born in March 2014, just seven months before her father was fatally shot at her mother’s family home in Vosloorus, Gauteng.
Senzo was with Kelly, Kelly’s sister and mother, Zandie and Ntombi Khumalo, Senzo’s friends Tumelo Madlala and Mthokozisi Thwala, Longwe, and Kelly’s two children, Christian and Thingo at the time of the incident.
