The September teasers for TVSA The River confirm that talented actress Linda Mtoba will return to the 1Magic telenovela in September.
According to the teasers, fans of the show will first see Nomonde on Wednesday, September 13th.
“Nomonde acts out when she realises she’s no longer welcome in Lindiwe’s house.”Thursday, 14 September: “Nomonde continues to wreak havoc in Lindiwe’s house. Cobra faces a hard truth.”
Mtoba took a break from the show towards the end of 2022 when her father Zweli Dikana, played by legendary actor Hlomla Dandala exited the show.
Dandala resigned from the telenovela after playing Lindiwe’s husband, Zweli for five seasons.
Tango Ncetezo, who has played Paulina since season one, and multi-award-winning actor Lawrence Maleka, who has played Zolani for five seasons, are two other actors who have left The River.
According to Sowetan, the International Emmy Award-nominated telenovela, which premiered in 2018, has won multiple SA Film and Television Awards (Saftas) over the years.
“Now in its sixth season, we believe the time has come to conclude the story of these beloved characters on our own terms, while viewers continue to value the show.” As the saying goes, “a good dancer always knows when to leave the stage,” and The River has reached that point.
