Umkhokha: The Curse’ is the most-watched telenovela on DStv
The faith-based telenovela ‘Umkhokha: The Curse’ by Rythm World has been named the most-watched telenovela on DStv.
According to the most recent numbers from the Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa’s (BRCSA) Television Audience Measurement (TAM), Umkhokha: The Curse is now the most-watched telenovela on DStv.
Mzansi Magic’s drama series Shaka Ilembe is the most-watched TV show on DStv with 828 000 people, while Umkhokha: The Curse is the most-watched telenovela on DStv with 741 994 viewers, according to BRCSA July 2023 numbers.
According to the July results, Gomora is now the second-most-watched telenovela, with 721 546 viewers, followed by Gqeberha: The Empire, with 700 317.
The award-winning series Umkhokha, which premiered in October 2021, will return in March 2023 as a telenovela named Umkhokha – The Curse.
South Africans can’t get enough of the faith-based telenovela which focuses on a gigantic church in KwaZulu-Natal, Ithempeli Lenkosi and stars Deli Malinga as MaMzobe, Sibongile Ngubane as Difa, Nay Maps as Sphamandla, Hope Mbhele as Mabusi and many more.
