Durban Gen and Kwaito star in horrific crash!
After surviving a car accident, three Durban celebrities are grateful for their lives. Seat belts saved Uzalo’s Bhekisizwe Mahlawu and his Gqom bandmates Bhar and Sosha Ngcobo. They claim that even if the car is totaled, their lives are more important.
Three Durban musicians are counting their blessings after surviving a car crash caused by another vehicle on their way to a Hillcrest gig outside the city.
Former Durban Gen star Bhekisizwe Mahlawu and his friends, Gqom artists Bhar and Sosha Ngcobo, told ZiMoja that they are fortunate to be alive following a terrible accident. Mahlawu’s car has been written off, but he is grateful for life nonetheless:
“The car is replaceable, but life is more precious and valuable.”
The trio survived the crash with two passengers still in hospital from critical wounds.Bhar said they owe their survival to safety belts: “Had it not been for the fact that I had my safety belt on, I would have died or flung out of the car.
“It is still hard to move around. I also have the safety belt bruises left across my chest.”
Mahlawu is not the first former Generations actor to be involved in a car accident. Palesa Madisakwane, Somizi Mhlongo’s baby mama, survived a car accident with her nine-year-old daughter, who was sleeping in the backseat.
After a drunk driver slammed into her car, the now-defunct ANN7 news reader needed 20 stitches on her forehead, which Somizi paid for.
