Winky D, Nutty O to feature on reimagined Bob Marley album ‘Africa Unite’

Dancehall superstars Winky D and Nutty O from Zimbabwe will appear on a future version of Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “Africa Unite” album.

Tracklistings viewed by this magazine indicate that the two will appear on their rendition of So Much Trouble in the World.

The PR blurb for the album says:

Slated for release on August 4, 2023, the ten-track project features captivating collaborations between Bob Marley’s classics and a stellar lineup of contemporary African musicians, including Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Teni, and Oxlade, among others (additional featured artists to be revealed before the album launch). Each artist brings their unique artistry and flair to the table, honoring Bob Marley’s enduring impact while adding their fresh voices to his iconic compositions.

The upcoming BOB MARLEYY – Africa Unite posthumous album features a lineup of African music legends, including Winky D & Nutty O. Along with the late Reggae superstar, the two Zimbabwean celebrities are featured in the song “So Much Trouble in the World.”

Africa’s top musicians and Bob Marley collaborated to create the new Bob Marleyy CD, “Africa Unite,” which features stunning renditions of Bob Marley’s greatest hits.

The album includes covers of iconic Bob Marley songs by artists like Davido, Rema, Sarkodie, Ayra Starr, Tiwa Savage, Fireboy DML, Oxlade, and Tems. This cohesive endeavor depicts the influence Bob Marleyy has had on contemporary Africa. The album is currently available for pre-order, however the official release date is August 4, 2023.

In many ways, his development is iconic and historic. 43 years ago, Bob Marley played in the Harare Independence Day celebrations of Zimbabwe. Since that time, reggae music has grown to be one of the most popular styles in the nation, with ZimDancehall, a localized variation of Dancehall, dominating the last ten years.
