Zonke Mchunu, who plays Imani in the SABC 2 soap opera Muvhango, is a talented model and actress who can pull off any hairstyle.
Despite the fact that Imani always appears on the show with a full head of hair, Zonke Mchunu has been bald for most of this year and has had to wear a wig, but this week she decides to surprise her fans with another new style.
The 30-year-old Muvhango star went for the chiskop hairstyle a few months ago because she was entering a new phase of her life and wanted a fresh start. In an interview with Drum Magazine, Zonke explained why she chose the bold Chiskop hairstyle.
“Imani has hair. But Zonke is bald because I just wanted something new, fresh, and a clean start to the year,” Zonke says.
This time, the actress posted on her Instagram account, showing off her new style and looking beautiful with a caption: “”””Unapologetic 😚”””

The actress joined Muvhango in 2015 and has been playing the role of Imani for almost 10 years. Before landing the role of Imani, she had appeared in several commercials but nothing significant.
Zonke, who has now made a name for herself in the industry, revealed that she entered the industry because she was passionate about acting and not because she wanted to be famous. Zonke stated,
“I was never in it for the fame,” she says.
“For me, acting has always been a passion and I have come a long way.” When she started acting on Muvhango, she was a little intimidated by the experienced actors.
“I was working with experienced actors like Sindi Dlathu, Lillian Dube and they helped me to relax and to be a better actress and I couldn’t have been more privileged,” Zonke says
She also revealed that some people have difficulty distinguishing between Imani, her Muvhango character, and Zonke, the real-life person.
Being a well-known actress comes with so many expectations. There are certain things I cannot wear, and places I cannot go to. I can’t be in a taxi even when the car breaks down,” she says.
“And I am an ordinary girl from next door who enjoys the simple joys of life, but I’ve had to make a few changes because some people can’t tell the difference between Zonke the artist and Imani the home wrecker. But everywhere I go, I remain humble and remember that I am nothing without the viewers,” Zonke adds.
