Fundiswa Ngcobo is a South African actress who presently appears on Scandal as Winnie! Her character, who brings debate to the small screen, has a large fan base.
She is one of the talented upcoming actresses to pay attention to. As much as Fundiswa Ngcobo has been cast alongside veteran actors who have been in the industry for years, she stands on her own. Through her character, Winnie, she continues to display the class act that she is every weekday on Scandal!.
In 2021, the actress relocates to Johannesburg in search of brighter pastures. She takes a job in Hospitality Management at the Radisson Red hotel shortly after graduating. Fortune comes knocking, and Fundiswa receives her first job as a supporting actor in a stage production called Jabulani Africa.
The door opens for the actress, and she lands her debut television role on Uzalo. Another supporting role in Zollywood comes her way, which she performs flawlessly in. A huge opportunity falls on Fundiswa’s lap as she is cast on Scandal! playing Winnie, a character that has viewers infuriated.

People question if the actress is a guy snatcher because of her deceitful character. Although she does not reveal her marital status, Fundiswa assures fans that she is nothing like Winnie’s portrayal.
The character I play has no similarities with me, except that we both love family, but I would not take it to an extent of falling pregnant for my sister. That is extra, she says.
She tells Sunday World that she does not condone what Winnie is doing and she’s not like her character at all.
“Making moves on a sibling’s partner is not something I would advise anyone to do. Winnie carried her sister’s child in exchange for education,” said Ngcobo.
“The character I portray has no similarities with me, except that we both love family, but I would not take it to an extent of falling pregnant for my sister, that is extra.
“I understand where Winnie is coming from. I have a beautiful four-year-old son, so I know that when a woman falls pregnant, they bond with the child as it grows inside her, which makes it difficult to detach once the baby is born. So her wanting to be there to nurture [the baby] is normal.”
Ngcobo adds that she’s grateful for the role, no matter how scandalous the storyline is.
“I have always known that I was destined for greatness, I had a wish that when my things finally align, I go on a platform where I will be seen, but this role came as a surprise,” she said.
Fundiswa describes her classic labor scenario by saying her own birth experience was different from Winnie’s. However, the actor saw her younger sister’s and grabbed 80% of it for the scenario.
Fundiswa is a model, playwright, and poet in addition to her acting abilities.
She doesn’t talk much about her romantic life, but she is the proud mother of a baby boy.
