
The family of the late actor Mpho Sebeng has graciously shared the details of his upcoming memorial service.The 31-year-old Savage Beauty star tragically lost his life in a car accident in Potchefstroom on Sunday, May 5.
Sebeng’s life will be honoured in a memorial service on Thursday, 9 May, at the Joburg Theatre at 16:00.Stay tuned for the upcoming announcement regarding Sebeng’s funeral service.
Zola Hashatsi, a fellow actor and close friend of Sebeng, shared with The Citizen on Sunday that Sebeng was a source of immense pride for his family.
“It is a difficult time for the family right now. Of course, this is still fresh.They loved him very much and were proud of him,” he explained.
Sebeng’s friends were getting set to celebrate his acquisition of a new residence in Randburg when the accident occurred, according to Hashatsi, who confirmed that the incident occurred.
“He was a great colleague. When he came to Craze I knew this was someone who was absolutely talented and never saw himself as above anyone else. He was great at what he did. I was six years older than him. I was not only his friend, I was his older brother.”
Sebeng has been a seasoned veteran in the acting industry for nearly two decades. He made his television debut on Justice For All and Zero Tolerance, both of which went on to win multiple awards. In addition to his impressive acting credits, he also landed roles on Bay of Plenty, eTV’s Scandal, and The Throne.
Ring of Lies was the late actor’s first prime-time lead. He was nominated for “Best Male Actor” in a telenovela at the 2018 South African Film & Television Awards.
He appeared in Collision, Savage Beauty, and Miseducation on Netflix. He starred in Tshepo and The Jakes Are Missing on Showmax.
